Galil
The Galil is the northwest part of Israel. Its mountains
and lakes are beautiful, and there are many spectacular places
to camp and spend the night or a few days. There are lots
of Moshavim (-a small community) and Kibbutzim, they all offer
rooms or Zimering - wooden huts for rent.
Amirim is one of our favorites. Its a vegan natural peace
of heaven, rich in spiritualism activities (yoga classes and
many natural healers) and charming tzimerim. We recommend
you to take the time and spend a few days here, enjoy the
variety of natural restaurants and home made products.
There are many places to spend the night at. Try to get one
with a good view and preferably a jacuzzi. If you intend to
stay the night you should make reservations in advance especially
on the weekend (from Thurs - Sat)
There is a small grocery store in the middle of this small
town, with natural yogurt and organic fruits and veggies.
If you are interested in good Israeli music ask the shop keeper
to show you where the CD's are. (The Shiva and Heeyam
are both really good bands.) Please keep in mind that this
is a natural grocery store, you will not find any cigarettes
or meat here. If you can read a bit of hebrew you can take
a look on the bulletin board outside the shop to see what
is happening, such as concerts or other activities.
The Haseoda Haachrona restaurant The Last Feast
is one of the most recommended restaurants.
We personally advise you to make it all the way to the Carmely's
Family House. They rent beautiful huts. It is
next to Dalia's Restaurant which is to be recommended,
too.If you did make all the way up to the end of this small
town, to the Carmely House make sure to ask for Bosmat
or one of her sisters. ( her mother is a wonderful lady that
runs the restaurants with home made cheese and also have great
tzimering) . This house also contains a hall for
Yoga and other classes which are held here each day.
On your way up through the town, you can check out the local
bakery shop, the pottery shop and the gallery.
